THE FORMAT:
The house:
Bigg Boss has built a
basic and functional house at the outskirts of Mumbai
where he has housed 13 celebrities for three months.
The house is large enough for 13 people, but small enough
to ensure that they are always in each other’s space.
Twenty-eight
cameras will capture their every move to ensure that
the celebrities do not have any privacy [except in the
bathrooms].
Can you imagine being
stuck inside a house for three months? How would you
feel if your freedom was taken away? Read on for more…
Bigg Boss Commandments
1. Back to basics
The celebrities have to
cook, clean, sweep the floor, etc., without any help
from maids or cooks. No make-up artists and no assistants
to order around.
2. No contact with
the outside world
Once inside the house,
the housemates cannot leave until they are evicted.
No contact from outside is possible. Cell phones, Internet,
television, radio and any other medium of communication
is banned in Bigg Boss’s house.
3. Weekly budget and
assignments
Bigg Boss gives celebrities
weekly and daily tasks through which they earn their
weekly budget. The group uses the budget to buy food
items to survive in the house.
The group can wager 25
per cent-75 per cent of their weekly budget with Bigg
Boss depending on the difficulty of the task. If they
are successful, Bigg Boss will increase their weekly
budget and if they fail at the task, they will have
to live like paupers.
4. Confession room
All nominations and private
conversations with Bigg Boss take place in the confession
room.
